We believe it’s critical to help elevate the stories of Georgians impacted by state and local criminal justice systems. Georgians, whether children, adults, voters, or legislators, need to see the faces of this crisis in Georgia.
Many people live with assumptions of what it means to be an “offender” inside of the justice system, and those assumptions never capture the true picture of the individuals most affected – hard-working Georgians with families and usually with children of their own. Many think people those in the system did something terrible that is deserving of punishment, but most people in jail haven’t even been charged and are being held for low-level non-violent crimes.
Most people have never been shown anything different – and we want to change that.
Your Story Is Important
Please, if you are willing to share your story with others in writing, photography, or a video testimonial, we want to help lift up your experience for others to understand what you and hundreds of thousands of other Georgians are going through.
ReformGeorgia Video Series
We are developing a series of video testimonials from Georgians around the state, from diverse backgrounds, with diverse experiences, to show that these issues affect all of us.
We plan to use these videos to elevate the conversation to focus on the human suffering that our justice system has caused and how we can help reduce that harm and heal the damage already done.
Your story can relate to your arrest, trial, your experience while incarcerated, probation, parole, or your transition back into normal life.
If you think you might be interested in sharing your story with us and others, please reach out using the form below. It doesn’t commit you to anything and we will always discuss any concerns or questions you have.
